Working on a coding project for class or building an app on the side? Two student offers could help cover some of the tools you use: OpenAI’s Codex credits and a free year of InkPal Pro.
These are separate programs. You’ll need to apply through each provider, and qualifying for one does not automatically qualify you for the other.
Free Codex credits for university students
OpenAI offers eligible university students in the United States and Canada $100 in ChatGPT credits for use in Codex, shown as 2,500 usage credits. Applicants must be currently enrolled at a degree-granting university and residing in either country when claiming the offer.
This is a Codex usage benefit, not cash or OpenAI API credit.
How to claim the credits
- Visit the official Codex student page.
- Sign in to your ChatGPT account.
- Complete student verification using your university email.
After successful verification, credits are applied to the account. The offer is limited to one per student, and credits expire 12 months after they are granted.

Get 12 months of InkPal Pro with a verified student email
InkPal is aimed at people building Flutter apps. Its student program provides 12 months of full Pro access with a verified .edu email address.
Rather than offering an instant checkout discount, InkPal asks students to request an access key by email.
What to include in your application
- Send an email from your .edu address to students@inkpal.ai.
- Include your name and university.
- Add one sentence describing what you’re building.
InkPal says it verifies the email domain and replies within one business day with a 12-month Pro key and setup instructions. Allow for possible processing delays.

Can you renew the student subscription?
InkPal says the offer is renewable annually while you remain a student. Check its current requirements before your access ends; the student page does not explain whether renewal happens automatically or requires another request.
Which offer fits your project?
If you want help with programming work across different projects, start by checking the Codex student offer. If you’re specifically developing a Flutter app, InkPal’s student subscription may be more relevant.
There is no need to apply for both simply because they’re free. Choose a tool that supports something you actually want to build, then follow its official verification process.
What to check before applying
- Separate eligibility: OpenAI specifies a U.S. and Canada requirement. InkPal’s student page specifies verified .edu email access; do not assume the programs share the same rules.
- Your school email: Make sure you can receive verification messages and setup instructions.
- Access after the offer: Review any renewal or paid-plan terms presented when you activate your account.
- Application timing: Neither student page reviewed for this article listed a public application deadline.
Offer details checked on October 8, 2026. Eligibility, availability and verification requirements may change. Confirm the current terms with each provider before applying.
