Which Deals Require a Rewards Account?

Several National Coffee Day promotions rely on loyalty apps or rewards programs. If you plan to use one of these offers, it is easier to create the account and sign in before you reach the store.

• Dunkin’: Dunkin’ Rewards and the Dunkin’ app are required for the free-coffee offer.
• Scooter’s Coffee: The free brewed-coffee offer is redeemed through the Scooter’s Coffee app.
• Circle K: Look for the offer in the Circle K app or Rewards Center.

Tips Before Heading Out for Free Coffee

• Check the restaurant app before leaving home.
• Confirm that your local store is participating.
• Read whether a purchase is required.
• Check size and drink restrictions before ordering.
• Expect some offers to be limited to one redemption per customer.
• Remember that limited-edition items and giveaways may run out early.

National Coffee Day promotions can change quickly, especially at franchise-operated locations. If the app or local store shows different terms, follow the terms shown by the participating brand.

When Is National Coffee Day?

National Coffee Day is celebrated in the United States on September 29. In 2026, September 29 falls on a Tuesday.

Many of the biggest promotions are valid for September 29 only, although a few rewards and online deals continue into early October.

Are These Coffee Offers Really Free?

Some are. Scooter’s Coffee and Aroma Joe’s have offers that do not necessarily require an additional purchase, while promotions from Dunkin’, Krispy Kreme and Caribou involve a purchase or another qualifying item.

For that reason, it is better to think of National Coffee Day as a mix of true freebies, buy-something-get-coffee offers and heavily discounted drinks rather than assuming every promotion is completely free.
